The requirement analysis phase is predominantly based on stakeholder analysis. It is assumed
that by this stage, key clients and stakeholders of the project have been decided along with a
possibly qualitative technique to gather rudimentary project requirements. This phase shall also
cover a comprehensive design plan of the system which will result in the implementation of the
system prototypes discussed later.
1.18 Theoretical Formulation of a type-1 FIS
Based on the design plan envisaged in the previous stage, this phase will theoretically formulate
and document the very first stage of the work of a “bare-bone” fuzzy inference system to
evaluate the most basic concepts of the project. This phase shall also investigate and possibly
implement an existing methodology to act as a benchmark for the later research.
1.19 Implementation of the initial FIS prototype
This phase involves the Matlab-based implementation of the formulation stated in the previous
stage. The implementation will also involve the development of a Matlab GUIDE-based
interface and ensure an outcome that would be used in the publication plan elaborated later in
this section.
