Nutritional biomarker

Topic: Nutritional biomarker

Order type: Essay
Nutritional biomarkers – or biochemical markers of intake – are used for the objective assessment of dietary exposure. They are in particular important in nutritional epidemiology as they can be used to obtain unbiased estimates of associations between intake and health. Although research on nutritional biomarkers has been conducted for the past decades, there is still a paucity of validated markers. Furthermore, there is no comprehensive database of available markers. The objective of this project is to conduct a systematic literature review, extract all relevant information on biomarkers and use this data to create a comprehensive database of nutritional biomarkers. This project is suitable for someone with interest in nutritional epidemiology and a good understanding of nutrition.
