Assignment Requirements
After you watch the following video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAvxebd7UTM) from the movie ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Big_Fat_Greek_Wedding), try to identify the multiple identities that the protagonist Toula is constructing by identifying the relevant contextualization cues. It asks you to apply the concept of contextualization cues to discuss the different identities that are performed by Toula Portokalos in the clip. Please have a look at your notes about contextualization cues (This file will be uploaded to you under the titled: SL 14 -weeks 9,10&11pdf –from slide 6 to 8-.), before you answer this question. I am expecting you to talk about linguistic, paralinguistic (e.g. intonation etc.) and exolinguistic (e.g. appearance) cues.
