There are 10 different primary sources of conflict in negotiations. Resource, Data-type, Preferences and nuisances, Differing attributes of causations, Communications problems, Differences in conflict orientation, Structural or interpersonal power, Identity, Values, Displaced and misattributed.
Resource conflicts are conflicts over ownership or control of something of value.
Data-type, There are two types, conflict over facts past or present, and conflict over law.
Preferences and nuisances. One person’s behavior disturbs another.
Communication is when language or behavior is misunderstood.
Differences in conflict orientation are differences in basic approach to relationships.
Values, Differences over beliefs or values.
