Annotated Bibliography
-Analyze 10 sources.
-Make sure at least 3 are primary sources.
-Cite each in Chicago Format.
-Briefly in about 125 words or more describe and analyze the source. (Consider: Does the source show bias? Who was the intended audience? Is it a primary or secondary source? Is it a useful source? What is the goal of the source? Is there a better source to use? Is the source scholarly? Would you recommend someone use this source?)
-Don’t write (or copy) a book review. I want to know what you think of the source. What value does the source have in doing research on the American Revolution?
-Remember since this would be considered a formal paper- stay away from using I, we, us, etc and contractions (didn’t, wouldn’t, etc).
-Be sure to add your name to the doc title i.e. ZuponMelindaMAnnotatedBib.
-Include a title page with your name, date, assignment title. Place page numbers at the bottom of each page and use Times New Roman 12 pt, 1 inch margins all the way around.
-Pick a topic: You can use all general Rev War books to concentrate on or just 1 aspect of the War, i.e. all books dealing with George Washington, the US Navy during the Revolution or just 1 battle. Place the subject of your Bibliography (ie. General Sources, or your choice of topic about revolutionary war) on the title page.
-Use a variety of sources. Don’t rely on just websites or just popular magazines. Make sure you have a mix of books, journals, websites, and primary sources.
