You are public relations director for Tip-Top Prefabrication, Inc. Your wholesale company makes prefabricated residential construction materials, such as roof trusses, wall sections for new houses, and molds for poured cement foundations. Tip-Top’s main clients are home construction companies. Despite the economic turndown, your company has grown substantially in the tri-state region, and it plans to open new plants in McCook, Grand Island, and North Platte, Nebraska. Headquarters and corporate offices are in Omaha. –Tip-Top employs a total of over 450 workers at it’s 5 plants. –Tip-Top opened and began it’s very first plant in Omaha in 1977. –Hal Smith has been president since 1995 and is a member of the Uptown Rotary Club in Omaha. Smith is also a member of the Sleepy Hollow Country Club. His predecessor was Adison Waveland, that now lives in Chicago. –Construction will start soon on the brand new plants. Construction on the McCook plant is scheduled to begin or start sometime in April 2016. Construction on the Grand Island and North Platte plants begins and starts in May 2016. –The plants will be located at 202 Prairie Road in McCook, 555 Ginger Avenue in Grand Island, and 3303 Gilligan Street in North Platte. –The buildings at each plant will be of metal construction. The size of the grounds for each plant is about 5 acres. –Tip-Top expects to employ over 80 full-time workers at each plant in McCook, Grand Island, and North Platte. –All three brand new plants are expected to be in operation by September 2016. –None of Tip-Top’s plants are unionized. –On top of the 80 full-time workers, each new plant will employ about 20 part-time workers. –Employees can look forward to two company picnics in the summer and a Christmas party each and every year. –Tip-Top plans and hopes to begin taking employee applications for its three new plants in July 2016.
