tax exempt (IRC 501(c)(7)) private club.
After graduation you and your friends decide that a great way to “stay in touch” would be to form a tax exempt (IRC 501(c)(7)) private club.
At your first meeting you begin to discuss the; who, what, why and when about the clubs’ formation.
With as much detail as possible and supported by references (not your opinion) describe the steps you and your friends will need to take to form the club.
Your submission must include in-depth discussions of the following topics:
1. Type of club you want to form and why.
2. Membership offered at the club with rights, privileges and dues structure defined for each membership type.
3. Governance of club- How will the club operate and make decisions.
4. Management of club- How and who will manage the daily operations of the club areas.
5. Human resources at club- What types of employees will you need?
6. The Club House- Describe the facilities you envision for the first year of operations and what you see the club growing into in the next 10 years. (include pictures).
7. Recreations offered at the club- Include the main recreation activity provided at the club’s inception and then expand on the related activities you foresee the initial members may also seek.
8. Entertainment at club- What social activities do you plan to hold in the first year of operations? What about the first 5 years?
9. Communications and Marketing of club- How to plan to undertake these functions for the first 5 years?
10. IRC 501(c)(7) compliance- Discuss the main challenges for maintaining this level of tax exempt status and why it is advantageous.
