You need to tell me 5 things you KNOW about software tools (benefits, different types, use in the classroom, etc.). You can look at the “key terms” at the bottom of pages 138-139 for ideas to write about. Next, you need to tell me5 things that you WANT to know about software. Then read the chapter. After you have read, tell me 5 things you LEARNED about educational software. (see example below).

What I KNOW: That cloud computing is a new trend in educational technology. Cloud computing allows you to save information to your “cloud” so that you do not have to save it locally.

What I WANT to know: I would like to learn more about Interactive Whiteboards, companies that sell them, and how they can help me in my classroom.

What I LEARNED: I learned that Promethean and SMART are two companies that sell interactive white boards. I also learned that I can use them for presentations and demos as well as clicker-based interactions and group work.
