Bank Dhofar has experienced massive changes in the ways of leaderships as CEOS changed in last eight years. The different CEOS leadership styles have impacted the path of the bank’s transformation. Before February 2008 the growth was a bit steady and minimal so the board members thought of how can this be changed and what are the main obstacles. The leadership style was autocratic and this style was influenced by the early CEO; Ahmed Al Shanfri who have leaded the bank for many years. He was known of not taking risk in the banking business. The board member decided to change the bank environment in order to lead in the market. Mr. Kris Babicci joined the bank in June 2008 as the Chief Executive Officer of Bank Dhofar and the board members given him the green light to lead the change in BankDhofar. The leadership within the organization changed to a democratic leadership. Improvements taken place and the bank profits have grown up. The bank then got the best bank award in Oman for two continues years. Competition has increased by other competitors. The leadership style got a different change when Toney Mahoney joined the bank from October 2011 and became transformational leadership as when just came on board he announced a new 5 years plan the big initiative which is to be the best Bank in Gulf (BiG). The growth rates have approached 20% and on performance the bank became the first in 2013.
