This assignment is to apply for a position as a leader at a Learning Resource Center.

The proposal must include the following:

1.       Expression of your interest in the position
2.       A short summary of your qualifications for the position
3. Complete the attached proposal for the LRC in MS Word document form.  The proposal should discuss your vision for the Learning Resource Center (LRC) based on your experience and observations with the LRC during your tenure here and based on previous experience you have had with an LRC.  You may identify what you perceive as issues and offer solutions.  Your vision and recommendations need to be based on sound principles of teaching, methodology, and second language acquisition.

Key components to this position will include but are not limited to the following:

1.      Supervising the LRC with a staff of 2 (Librarian & LRC assistant).
2.      Supervising the Supplemental Language teacher (SLT) Team, the Test Preparation Team and any other supplemental support programs that take place in the LRC after the academic day has ended.
3.      Creating curriculum and materials independent from the American Language Course (ALC).
4.      Managing the LRC Lab and PCs including overseeing the expansion of the Lab from 24 to 48 PCs.
5.      Conducting workshops for English Language Teachers (ELTs) to raise their awareness of low level learners.
6.      Submitting Weekly LRC reports to the Academic Director and the Program Manager.
