CRITICAL

Here are the general guidelines for completing the assignment. Download and review the project guidelines, excel template, rubric, and data analysis PPT prior to beginning the assignment. As with project 1, use the submit your completed project to LiveText using the format provided in BB.
1.Select 10 items from the test that you created for Project 1. These items should be objective test items (multiple-choice and/or true-false) where the answer can be either correct or incorrect.
2.Assume that you give the test to 20 students. You can take the test yourself or ask your friends/family to take the test for you. In either case, be sure that the scores are varied enough for item analysis.
3.Score the test and fill out 20 answer sheets, using the excel template in BB, for the students for your analysis but you will not need to submit the 20 answer sheets.
4.Construct a distribution of scores and a frequency distribution. See excel template in BB.
5.Calculate the mean, median, mode and standard deviation using the excel template in BB.
6.Using the templates in BB, determine the item difficulty and item discrimination for each item and assess the obtained values, e.g. optimal/non optimal. Refer to the PPT explaining both item analysis processes in BB.
7.Write a one-page reflection describing: ?What the assessment covered (include the 10 items including answer sheet) and the types of students that took the test (i.e. grade, gender, SES, ESOL or ESE. Refer to validity (content validity, threats to validity) and reliability of your instrument as well.
?How the students performed on the assessment with respect to teacher’s expectations and in terms of specific categories of students. Refer to the mean and standard deviation of various groups in the discussion.
?How well you think the assessment worked and how it might be changed to be more effective and to ensure all students learn. Discuss the item difficulty and item discrimination for at least 4 items. Based on the findings, discuss if the variance and outliers found may be indicative of having a diverse population in the classroom. And how these findings might guide to tailor your assessment, future lessons or re-teaching to meet students’ needs. Discuss the types of accommodations and assessment strategies that could be offered as well.
?Implications for students, teachers and parents.

As with the first project, copy and paste the excel spreadsheets and your responses into ONE WORD DOCUMENT. The format/template is in BB.
