Assignment Requirements
This focuses on current issues in the global economy. Select a topic that is fairly active in the media. For this paper, Use references and citations from media articles and the Dicken textbook only. Total references should be 9 including the articles and the textbook.
Collect 8 current media articles
• Journal on each article – about one paragraph – highlighting what is happening in the article (see the trees) in about 3 pages (8 paragraphs total)
• Do about a 5 page overview at the end – what is the big picture of what is happening with your topic
• Use concepts, ideas, approaches/perspectives, etc discussed in class to aid in your overview
• Look for solutions and how to make globalization work better – if applicable to your topic
• Give your informed opinion on the topic

The developed countries – Immigration/labor issues
The developing countries-poverty and heterogeneity – the rise of South East Asia, China, India, emerging markets in Eastern Europe and Latin America, mass pockets of poverty
