Students can be required to research, define, analyze, and transform assigned theories into practical school situations. The assignment can be evaluated based on the extent to which the assigned theories are clearly defined, aligned with their theoreticians, and related to a practical school situation. Students might be required to select theories from the textbook or sources in the literature other than the textbook. In cases when theories are selected from sources other than the textbook, the sources must be clearly documented. The written presentation of theories might be evaluated on the following criterion: a. The primary problem of the case is clearly stated. b. The secondary problems of the case are clearly stated including why they are secondary rather than primary. c. An appropriate theory base is selected and used to develop a solution to the case. d. Appropriate methods and/or approaches are selected to solve the problem issues. e. Appropriate sets of outcomes are selected as successful problem solutions.
