What is the role of leadership in strategic implementation?

The role of leadership encompasses many factors. Leader help create the reputation of a company. Therefore, the actions of leaders directly reflect strategic implementation and the outcomes created from implementation. Leaders help maintain the company’s mission and vision and guide plans to completion. As Hitt, Ireland, & Hoskisson (2009) state, strategic leadership “…is the ability to anticipate, envision, maintain flexibility, and empower others to create strategic change as necessary” (p. 340).
