Assignment Requirements
Choose to compare and contrast two films, one each from Group 1 and Group 2: Group
1: Godzilla, Twenty-Four Eyes, Seven Samurai, Tokyo Story, and Giants and Toys;
Group 2: Tokyo Drifter, Minamata:The Victims and Their World; No Man’s Zone;
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Rhapsody in August, Bubble Fiction: Boom or
Bust, and Tokyo Sonata.
You may focus on a similar theme, a shared critical problem,
or a combination of some of them.
