Read Night by Elie Wiesel, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr, and Morning Girl by Michael Dorris.

Read Night by Elie Wiesel, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr, and Morning Girl by Michael Dorris. Write a 1 – 2 page paper for each book about ways that you might use them in a differentiated learning environment. Both Sadako and Morning Girl are written on a lower reading level, yet address complex subject matter. How might you teach these books?
Research has shown that pre, during and post reading activities help students to enter and understand written texts. Please include a pre-reading activity for each of these texts (something to motivate student engagement with the books) and any ideas for multi media to enhance your teaching of these texts. How do you envision connecting students to the text before you begin to teach it?
